Celestion Century Vintage Neo Guitar Speaker Celestion Century Vintage Neo Guitar Speaker
$165

With the G12 Century Vintage, Celestion's mission was to create a loudspeaker that combined all the benefits of a Neodymium magnet structure with a voicing that evoked the classic guitar tones of the 1960s and ’70s. The incredible magnetic properties of Neo mean that only a small amount is needed to produce the same flux as a much larger ceramic magnet structure. What’s more, the magnet of the G12 Century Vintage is a ‘pot’ type which actually sits inside the voice coil (unlike the ‘ring’ magnet of the G12 Century which surrounds the voice coil). The resulting weight of the G12 Century Vintage is just 1.66kg (3.65lb). The Neo characteristics of fast attack, responsiveness and articulation are very much in evidence. However this specific magnet configuration, combined with a carefully selected cone material and edge treatment, gifts the G12 Century Vintage with a classic rock sound for the new millennium.

Seymour Duncan Vintage Blues Humbucker Pickup Set Seymour Duncan Vintage Blues Humbucker Pickup Set
$130.95

The Seymour Duncan Vintage Blues Set is made up of a pair of calibrated SH-1 ’59 Model pickups for the neck and bridge positions. This set is based on the vintage P.A.F. humbuckers of the late ‘50s and is perfect for blues, jazz, and classic rock. Duncan believes that their new Matched Sets will take the guesswork out of matching complete retrofit sets of guitar pickups. All of the pickups in the matched sets are hand built in Duncan’s Santa Barbara, California workshop and include all necessary mounting hardware and wiring instructions. Ever wonder what holds you back from buying new electric guitar pickups? Seymour Duncan did. So they undertook detailed market research to determine the biggest factor as to why guitar players don’t make the purchase decision. It turns out that Duncan’s huge array of pickups (108 different series, at last count) was working for them and against them at the same time. The biggest reason for reluctant guitarists: too many pickups from which to choose . Recently, Seymour Duncan released their most popular pickup models in pre-matched sets, to take the guesswork out of determining which pickups work well together. The initial release of matched sets includes pickups targeted to a specific type of player and their musical taste.

The Vox Vintage Coiled guitar cable provides a clean, more accurate sound, eliminating noise and interference that compromise performance. Vox utilizes unique audiophile grade materials and technology to give you the best possible performance. These cables use proprietary technology and manufacturing methods. Vox VCC Vintage Coiled Cable Features Multi-gauge conductors give optimum performance at all frequencies Finest grade 99.99% purity oxygen free copper cable conductors for superior sound quality Maximum noise isolation using two separate shields Premium quality abrasion resistant high temperature PVC jacket for maximum durability Precision machined gold plated connectors with one-piece tip for maximum conductivity and reliability Precision formulated polypropylene dielectric for better signal transfer and unique sound quality Conventional guitar cables compromise performance by using lower grade conventional copper conductors. This can result in signal loss and distortion that cause lower definition, poor dynamics, and lifeless sound. VOX Coiled cables use the finest grade OFC copper conductors that give you better clarity and a more natural sounding midrange. This material is seldom used for guitar cables, and is world renowned in audiophile circles. The unique multi-gauge design uses conductor types that are optimized for their particular frequency ranges, and this results in a fuller sound that is much more dynamic and more natural. In the past, coiled cables have suffered from poor sound quality, but the multi-gauge construction has allowed us to eliminate many of the undesirable qualities of typical coiled cables and give you one that is truly musical. The precision formulated, Polypropylene dielectric material results in stronger signals that yield better high frequencies, and more detail. Vox coiled cables are also double shielded to provide maximum isolation from electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

New in paperback! Just two generations ago, the United States was little more than a footnote in the world of wine. Then, seemingly overnight, everything changed, and American varietals began outscoring the best French wines in international competitions. How did a country with virtually no premium winemaking tradition of its own suddenly become a world leader in the industry? In American Vintage, Paul Lukacs traces the rise of American wine and the quirky heroes and visionaries who altered the course of wine history: Nicholas Longworth, the founding father of American wine, a diminutive real estate tycoon who transformed Ohio into the American Rhineland; Dr. Charles Welch, a Methodist preacher who created nonalcoholic grape juice in the name of temperance; Gustave Niebaum, a Finnish sea captain who made a fortune in the fur trade before establishing one of California's first great vineyards, Inglenook; and the secretive Gallo brothers and Robert Mondavi, who held opposing views about the direction American wine should take. As Lukacs tells his colorful story, he reveals as much about our culture as he does about the wine industry itself.

Only a generation ago, the United States was little more than a footnote in the story of wine. Then, seemingly overnight, everything changed. American varieties began outscoring their counterparts in international competitions and tantalizing palates at home and abroad. Today, American wines not only compete successfully with prestigious imports but also set international standards for style and quality. How did a country with virtually no winemaking traditions of its own suddenly become a world leader? In AMERICAN VINTAGE, Paul Lukacs tells the story of the improbable rise of American wine. He populates his narrative with a series of quirky heroes and visionaries who changed the course of wine history. They include Nicholas Longworth, the founding father of American wine, a diminutive real estate tycoon who in the decades before the Civil War transformed Ohio into "the American Rhineland"; George Husmann, a nineteenth-century Missouri grape grower who passionately believed that American wines belonged on American supper tables; and Gustave Niebaum, a Finnish sea captain who made a fortune in the fur trade and went on to establish one of California's premier vineyards. Lukacs chronicles the fall of wine during the dark days of Prohibition and then its gradual rise at the hands of the "first families of American wine" -- the Mondavis and the Gallos -- who held opposing views of the new direction that American wine would take, with important consequences for its future. In chronicling the tumultuous history of wine, Lukacs reveals as much about American culture as he does about wine and viticulture.

It is simply the world’s most famous acoustic guitar, and certainly one of most popular, as evidenced by the list of players that have made it their primary acoustic instrument, among them Ray Whitley, Emmylou Harris, Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Gram Parsons, and Pete Townshend. This is probably one of the sweetest guitars you’ll ever play. It has an eerily haunting tone when softly finger picked but you can also lay down some bright country riffs. Gibson SG Custom Vintage Original Spec Electric Guitar with Case Gibson SG Custom Vintage Original Spec Electric Guitar with Case
$3999

The Gibson Vintage Original Spec SG Custom: The SG Custom replaced the single cutaway Les Paul Custom in 1961. With 3 Patent Applied For humbuckers, gold hardware, multiple binding, and an ebony fingerboard to go along with the new thinline body, the SG Custom maintained the standard of elegance set by the original Les Paul Custom. Now part of Gibson’s proprietary new Vintage Old Spec series – the next step in their journey toward perfection. Includes Custom Shop case. Custom Shop VOS Guitars Gibson has been producing solid body electric guitars for 55 years. Of course, the most famous of these guitars is the legendary Les Paul. In 2006 the Gibson Custom Shop released its Vintage Original Spec (VOS) series in honor of the instruments that have literally shaped the face of music today. The series consists of a 1956 Les Paul Gold Top; a ’57 Les Paul Junior Singlecut; a ’57 Gold Top in plain and darkback; ’57 Customs in 2 and 3 pickup versions; ’58 Junior Double Cut; ’58 Plain Top; ’59 Les Paul Sunburst reissue; ’60 Les Paul Reissue; ’60 Les Paul Specials in Single and Double Cut; an SG Standard Reissue; and an SG Custom 3 pickup Reissue. The production of these instruments is the culmination of 20 years of experience producing handmade Gibson Custom guitars. We primarily took on the challenge of re-creating the 3 most vital aspects of these legendary instruments: Look, Playability, and most of all Tone. In order to accurately reproduce the appearance of vintage Gibsons, the Custom Shop uses a combination of faithful adherence to our history and proprietary new processes and inventions. The hardware is left to soak in a special solution that transforms a brand new pick-up cover into a gently used historic jewel. The plastic and binding are painstakingly hand aged to provide that warm yellowed look that takes decades to occur in nature. Vintage accurate wood fillers, anodized dies and a 100% nitro-cellulose lacquer finishes are all expertly applied to create exacting reproductions of Gibson’s Gold Tops, Cherry’s, TV’s and, of course, famous Sunbursts. However, at a special point during the final buffing process, VOS guitars are treated to an application of Gibson’s secret and proprietary Magic Tone Oil . This oil is left to cure for a few days, and the result is that unmistakable lightly worn but still gorgeous appearance of a well cared for 50 year old guitar. In my humble opinion, however, it is in the remarkable playability of these instruments that we have really outdone ourselves. Each neck is literally hand rolled to replicate with amazing authenticity the 3 most notable neck profiles in Gibson history – the 50’s style, the ’59, and the 1960 neck shape. The binding is also hand addressed to provide maximum comfort and playing surface. Finally, using another piece of technology for which Gibson has exclusivity for production instruments, the

Maxon VOP 9 Vintage Overdrive Pro Distortion Pedal Maxon VOP 9 Vintage Overdrive Pro Distortion Pedal
$225

The indestructible Maxon VOP9 takes the same basic circuit as the original OD820 Overdrive Pro and offers it up in Maxon’s industry-standard 9-Series chassis. The VOP9 vintage overdrive pedal uses the same JRC NJM4558D op-amp for low-noise operation, and features the same negative feedback loop clipping diode as the OD820 and OD9. Plus the Maxon VOP9 also features mechanical true bypass switching for uncolored sound in bypass and the ability to blend clean and overdriven tones together. In addition, the VOP9’s operating voltage is switchable between 9 and 18 volts via an internal DIP switch accessible through the unit’s battery compartment. Running at 18 volts eliminates unintentional distortion from the use of high-output pickups and electronics, even when the guitar is played at full volume and the VOP9’s Drive control is set to full. This feature basically makes the VOP9 a 4 in 1 pedal, offering clean boost or overdrive functions at 9 or 18 volt operation, allowing the user to find the setting that works best for their particular setup and playing style. A combination clean booster and overdrive in one, the VOP9 blends clean and saturated signals for a more transparent, less compressed tone. More importantly, the VOP9 offers more accurate, full-frequency note reproduction and improved dynamic response. The result: An overdrive that is dangerous in the hands of a gifted guitarist.

One of the keys to that clarity and definition is solid construction. While the body size and scale length are the same as Guild’s 6-string jumbo models, the 12-strings are 1-13/16 inches wide at the nut and feature their time-tested 12-string jumbo bracing pattern.

While the body size and scale length are the same as Guild’s 6-string jumbo models, the 12-strings are 1-13/16 inches wide at the nut and feature their time-tested 12-string jumbo bracing pattern.

$2599.99

One of Guild’s earliest 12-string acoustic guitar designs, the F412 and its sibling, is one of the most enduring and popular models ever constructed. The bound ebony fingerboard with abalone and mother-of-pearl block inlays, G -shield headstock logo, gold hardware and a pure nitrocellulose lacquer finish are excellent appointments on an outstanding 12-string acoustic. Guild F412 Jumbo Features Jumbo Body with Solid AAA Sitka Spruce Top Figured Maple Back and Sides 3-Piece Mahogany and Walnut Neck Ebony Fingerboard with Rosewood Bridge Deluxe Hardshell Case Included The quality and ubiquity of Guild’s jumbo 12-strings have earned them a permanent place in guitar history. Winner of the James Beard Foundation, International Association of Culinary Professionals, and Clicquot Wine Book of the Year awards. How did a country with no winemaking traditions of its own suddenly become a world leader? Paul Lukacs offers a full history, from seventeenth-century experiments to the fall of wine during the dark days of Prohibition through its remarkably rapid upswing in recent decades. The tale is replete with quirky heroes and visionaries who changed the course of wine history: from Nicholas Longsworth, a diminutive, nineteenth-century real estate tycoon and the founding father of American wine, to the Mondavis and Gallos, the powerful first families of American wine in the modern era. 16 pages of illustrations.

With integrated D-TAR pickup and preamp system, the acoustic electric version of Guild’s F412 is one of the most enduring and popular models ever constructed. True to its vintage roots, today’s F412 has the same body dimensions as the original (17 x 21 x 4.8 inches). and now features an arched figured maple back and solid figured maple sides and a solid AAA Sitka spruce top. Guild F412 Jumbo Features Jumbo Body with Solid AAA Sitka Spruce Top Figured Maple Back and Sides 3-Piece Mahogany and Walnut Neck Ebony Fingerboard with Rosewood Bridge D-TAR Wave-Length Pickup and Preamp System Deluxe Hardshell Case Included D-TAR Wave-Length Pickup and Preamp System The Wave-Length combines a thin, piezo under-saddle transducer with an 18v, low-noise, high input impedance preamp, to create a system with twice the dynamic range of typical 9v systems. The 18v preamp is powered by two AA batteries and a voltage converter. With 18 volts, the signal has more headroom, so hard strumming won’t distort as easily. The preamp also has an input for a second source, like a magnetic pickup or a soundboard transducer. Two adjustable trim pots, one for low frequency shelving and one for high frequency shelving, allow you to fine tune and set and forget the bass and treble frequencies to optimize the Wave-Length for your instrument’s size and shape; enabling you transparently amplify the natural timbre of your acoustic guitar with minimal coloration. The soundhole mounted Volume and Tone controls give the ultimate in final control your tonal palette. But perhaps the coolest part of the system is D-TAR’s new Load ‘N Lock system, which allows quick and easy AA batteries changes. Just unscrew the endpin collar , remove the old batteries, and pop in the new ones. A quarter turn of the collar is all you need to lock them in place.

Personnel: Michael Bolton (vocals); Dan Warner, Manny Lopez, Michael Thompson (guitar); Ed Calle (saxophone); Jason Carder (trumpet); Mike Levine, Clay Perry (piano); Lee Levin (drums). After hitting his 50th birthday in February 2003, Michael Bolton took a page from the books of fellow fiftysomethings like Rod Stewart and Robert Palmer and had a go at the great American book of standards. Bolton delivers the goods with an enthusiasm stoked by a childhood surrounded by his mother's recordings of legends like Billie Holiday, Nat "King" Cole, and Louis Armstrong. He tips his hat to these influences by way of delicate readings of "All The Way," "A Kiss to Build a Dream On," and "When I Fall In Love" respectively. Bolton also manages to invoke a touch of restraint on songs normally associated with belted-out interpretations, like the Harry Warren/Mack Gordon classic "At Last." There's even a nod by the gruff-voiced Bolton to hero Ray Charles via the pop-country perennial "You Don't Know Me."

Universal Audio 2 1176 Twin Vintage Limiting Amplifier Universal Audio 2 1176 Twin Vintage Limiting Amplifier
$2799

The legendary Universal Audio 1176 is now stereo! The 1176 was the compressor that shaped the sound of rock guitar and drums in the '70s and continues to do so to this day. Go to any world-class studio—if you don't see an 1176 or two in the rack, it's because they haven't finished building the studio. And now, thanks to the 2-1176, you can have two of this studio-proven workhorse in one unit. Now you can have the big New York studio drum sound that only comes from strapping an 1176 across your stereo buss. Universal Audio 2-1176 Features: Sound and Features of the Original 1176LN Classic Custom 1176LN Output Transformers Stereo or Dual Mono Operation Totally Independent Compression and Gain Controls in Dual Mono Mod Matched FETs and Output Transformers Rack Space Convenience of Two 1176s in a 2U Rack Design The 2-1176 builds from the circuit design of UA's hugely successful 6176 Channel Strip and combines two 1176 channels from that unit-- an uncompromising design, with all the same components- stereo matched to boot! With the release of the 2-1176, we once again put that sound into your rack but with twice the tone, twice the character and twice the compression-- at an unbelievable price, and half the space. As you would expect from UA, it also retains all the features and trademark sound of its ancestor, and switches easily between dual mono and stereo link.   All-button mode or British mode : For those that don't know, back in the glory days of gonzo recording, an adventurous engineer wanted to know what would happen if you pressed all four compression ratio buttons in at the same time. It was discovered that with all four buttons pressed in, the 1176 made drums jump out of the speakers, and became a much used staple of hard rock drum recording. With thousands of units already sold since the year 2000 re-birth of Universal Audio's 1176LN, it is clear the public's love affair with the legendary sound of the 1176 is still as passionate as ever.

Vintage American Farm Tractors (Enthusiast Color Series) by Andrew Morland Published in 1997 by Motorbooks International
Typical American (Vintage Contemporaries) Typical American (Vintage Contemporaries)

From the beloved author of Mona in the Promised Land and The Love Wife comes this comic masterpiece, an insightful novel of immigrants experiencing the triumphs and trials of American life. Gish Jen reinvents the American immigrant story through the Chang family, who first come to the United States with no intention of staying. When the Communists assume control of China in 1949, though, Ralph Chang, his sister Theresa, and his wife Helen, find themselves in a crisis. At first, they cling to their old-world ideas of themselves.  But as they begin to dream the American dream of self-invention, they move poignantly and ironically from people who disparage all that is “typical American” to people who might be seen as typically American themselves. With droll humor and a deep empathy for her characters, Gish Jen creates here a superbly engrossing story that resonates with wit and wisdom even as it challenges the reader to reconsider what a typical American might be today.
